Have you heard of Brickmania Toyworks? I think most everyone has played with Legos at some point the the Brickmania Toyworks takes Legos to a whole new level in Northeast Minneapolis! Daniel Siskind founded the Brickmania Toyworks in 1999. He is a Lego enthusiast but found that Lego did not produce all the parts and pieces that he really wanted to create his scenes. He now produces kits that are made of genuine Lego parts but are not part of the official Lego product line. He works mostly with medieval and renaissance castles, pirates and military models.
The second Saturday of each month the Brickmania Toyworks building is open to the public from 10am to 4pm. The main attraction is the Lego set up but you can also purchase Lego kits in a side area of the building. The building host 2 local Lego clubs, one of which is the Lego Train Club. People of all ages will find something fun to do and see at the open house! The train set up has very real recreated war scenes, a subway, models of actual buildings in our cities and so much more!
They also have a motto that if a child brings their own Lego train, the club will run it on their track for the child. Be forewarned – if you are not into Legos either stay at home or bring along something to do because Lego fans will want to spend a lot of time at the open house.
The Brickmania Toyworks is located at 1620 Central Ave. NE, Ste. 177, Minneapolis. The open house is the second Saturday of every month and is free.
