First Signs of Spring in Minnesota

Here we are almost at the end of February, most Minnesotans are feeling cooped up after the winter although this year was not as rough of a winter as some years have been.  March tends to be our snowiest month but nevertheless we get spring fever and start thinking ahead to summer.  Spring doesn’t officially arrive until March 20, but we like to get a head start.  There are several signs every year that spring is coming.

Last weekend was the Home and Patio show.  People could go there and get some great ideas on landscaping and just about anything for the home.  It gets you thinking about what you might want to plant in the spring or how you might want to remodel your bath or kitchen and you can see what the current trends are.

The Home and Garden Show starts Wed. February 29th and runs through March 4th.  This show is similar to the Home and Patio show that ran last weekend except that it is held in Minneapolis.  Another great place to start thinking about what you might want to change in your landscaping this year or perhaps get inspired for some remodeling projects in your home.

The largest event is the Spring Parade of Homes which starts March 3rd and runs through April 1.  The homes are open for viewing Thursdays through Sundays from 12 to 6.  Whether you are looking to buy, build or remodel, it is a fabulous way to get out there and see what the latest is in housing from appliances to materials.  It will definitely inspire you!  If you want to map out your own home tour, you can pick up a guidebook at any Holiday Station Store.  If you are looking to build or buy, remember that the people in the homes work for the builder and are looking out for the best interests of the builder, not you.  Why not let me take you out and represent you – I would be happy to and it would cost you nothing!

Soon you will see more homes popping up for sale and buyers will be out in full force as our spring housing market normally kicks off in March – barring a major snowstorm!
